Weird Ass Dream
I had a dream last night that I was Lady Gaga and I had to help save the Jews from an evil dictator. I had a baby with a stroller that matched my outfit, and Oscar was smoking weed with me and then he turned into a different kind of dog. And he learned how to talk. I owned a whole bunch of really awesome shoes.

5-Days-After-Sex Pill Gets FDA Panel Nod
http://ping.fm/A723T
I think this is really great. Of course, I don't promote casual unprotected sex, but this is something that could encourage less abortions. Personally, I am against abortions (shock! horror!) but I think everyone has the right to choose for themselves. Destruction of a living being is sad and selfish. However, some women feel they must have them due to medical or other reasons, which makes sense to me. (Why would you put your life and your unborn child's life in danger?) I don't agree with abortion as a form of birth control, but I also don't agree with the people that stand outside Planned Parenthood with their giant pictures of aborted fetuses. That's not the way to change someone's mind.

Mr. Bungle
http://ping.fm/gMHB2 One of my favorite bands forever. Retrovertigo.
Before you advertise
All the fame is implied
With no fortune unseen
Sell the rights
To your blight
Time-machine
While I'm dulled by excess
And a cynic at best
My art imitates crime
Paid for by
The allies
So invest
Now I'm finding truth is a ruin
Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing
Staring into glassy eyes
Mesmerized
There's a vintage thirst returning
But I'm sheltered by my channel surfing
Every famine virtual
Retrovertigo
A tribute to false memories
With conviction
Cheap imitation
Is it fashion or disease?
Post-ironic
Remains a mouth to feed
Sell the rights
To your blight
And you'll eat
See the vintage robot wearied
Then awakened by revision theories
Every famine virtual
Retrovertigo

Book
I just finished reading this book and it is very morbid, of course. Detailed things about what people do, and have done through history, with dead bodies. Needless to say, it is not for the squeamish.
Some notable chapters:
Crimes of Anatomy: Body snatching and other sordid tales from the dawn of human dissection
Holy Cadaver: Crucifixion experiments
Just A Head: Decapitation, reanimation, and the human head transplant
Eat Me: Medicinal cannibalism and the case of the human dumplings
The author, Mary Roach, is candid and by no means euphemistic. This book kind of upset me in some places (reanimation and cannibalism), but curiosity kept me going. Really, don't read this if you are easily offended or upset. It is very unorthodox and kind of sacriligious. That being said, I enjoyed it because I love biology and gross stuff.
I've become morbid and fascinated by death ever since I took this religious studies class at school called Death, Dying, and Afterlife taught by Professor Rebecca Moore. The class was awesome and even made me cry a couple of times, due to my recent close encounter with death. It was an awesome class, taught by an awesome person, and it has changed my life.

This Makes Me Want A Baby
Apple Green Woolen Baby Booties
They are by chetanddot on Etsy (duh). They have a lot of other cute stuff that just makes me want to scream.
BuyMyCrap
I always find these cool things randomly on Etsy in the middle of the night when I'm half awake. BuyMyCrap makes jewelry out of resin. How do you make stuff with resin? What is resin anyways?
Wikipedia says,
Resin is a hydrocarbon secretion of many plants, particularly coniferous trees. It is valued for its chemical properties and associated uses, such as the production of varnishes, adhesives, and food glazing agents; as an important source of raw materials for organic synthesis; and as constituents of incense and perfume. In perfumery such products are often termed "ambered", based on Fossilized resins being the source of the gemstone amber. Resins are also a material in nail polish.
Oh. Well anyways, here's some pictures of stuff that I thought was super awesome.

Geometric Vampire Inspired Solid Resin Ring
Yeah, you know how I like blood. Mmm...
Extra Small Graphic Clear Resin Bangle Bracelet, Poison
There was a couple other bracelets that I like, too. I want like 10 so I can wear them all at once and have them clacking against one another joyously.
Glitter Solid Resin Ring
Now this just looks like some delicious candy. NOM!
I wish I could buy this stuff...but I have no money and there's other stuff like chocolate bars that are more important right now. :(

Nico the Fashion Cat
Introducing...my new fashion consultant...Nico the Fashion Cat! Today is the first day of her new job. She will help me pick out outfits. Here's how it works: Since she can't point, I pick an item of clothing and show it to her. If she runs away, that means no. If she stays and gazes at it admiringly, that means yes.
Today she picked out some bright pink leggings with a black design on it that looks like a maze, a short black dress, a lace black dress over that, and my denim jacket with a cameo brooch on it. Pretty good for the first day on the job!

Boredom
I have been suuuuper bored since the start of summer break. I'm sure part of it has to do with no job/ no purpose -type of feelings. Feeling guilty for not contributing to the household financially. Not having many friends. Staying inside all day... Leading to complete lack of motivation and energy. I began to think, Why am I even getting out of bed? Why am I getting dressed? What is the point? I was bored with life and beginning to get depressed.
But today--no more!! I realized that I had to go out seeking adventure; it would not come knocking on my door. So I got dressed in a non-boring outfit and went to the non-boring Pacific Beach. They have great thrift stores, and I also donated some of my old stuff.
I wore: a very faded blue tie-dyed undershirt underneath a tight mustard t-shirt that I cut slashes across the front of, a long black flowy cotton skirt past my knees, a purple and black tiger print silky scarf around my neck, my blue hipster nerd glasses, and dark green Vans without laces. Reddish metalic Urban Decay eyeliner all around my eyes. Oddly, I'm kind of into the heroin chic/ I partied last night and barely slept makeup look.
I felt way better today than I have in a long time. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
